E1 Class Weights are used as reference standard for calibrating other standards and weights. Most importantly, these are not meant for any general laboratory use.
E1 Class Weights are most often used by Calibration Laboratories which are involved in calibration activities of Standard Weights and Weighing Balances. As mentioned above, they use these E1 Weights as Reference Standard or Master Equipment for Calibrating other classes of Weights such as E2 Class, F1 Class and so on. At the same time these are used for Calibration of Micro Balances and Semi Micro Balances.
Without having E1 Class Weight Box in the list of your master equipment, no lab gets the permission/authorisation to do calibration job for E2 Class Weight Box and Micro Balances.
